Temperature measurement at the continuous casting plant

As efficiency increases, so does the stress on continuous casting equipment. This requires extensive process monitoring measures. For temperature measurement in continuous casting plants, ratio pyrometers are preferably used. These measure the temperature even with the harshest contamination and low visibility of the measured object. The ratio pyrometer can be used at several points in the spray chamber as well as after the strand has exited. If the limit value of the workpiece is exceeded, the temperature in the ladle or the process speed is controlled in real time.
