Combined measurement expertise for ophthalmics

With Micro-Epsilon, Optocraft and V-OPTICS, the Micro-Epsilon Group combines extensive expertise in optical measurement and inspection technology for ophthalmics. The portfolio ranges from wavefront sensing and high-precision thickness measurement to automated defect inspection, supporting quality assurance for contact lenses, intraocular lenses and eyeglass lenses.

Ophthalmics places the highest demands on precision, repeatability and process reliability. Whether contact lenses, intraocular lenses or eyeglass lenses, optical systems must be reliably inspected, objectively evaluated and efficiently qualified in development and production. The Micro-Epsilon Group combines the expertise of Micro-Epsilon, Optocraft and V-OPTICS and offers an exceptionally broad range of sensors, measuring systems and automated inspection solutions for the ophthalmic industry.

Wide range of measurement and inspection tasks

The technology portfolio covers numerous measurement and inspection tasks throughout the entire process chain. These include determining refractive properties, evaluating imaging quality and inspecting geometric characteristics. Thickness measurements, contour inspections and color evaluations can also be performed with high precision. This enables key quality characteristics of ophthalmic products to be reliably measured and objectively evaluated.

Automated inspection of lens surfaces

In addition to metrological evaluation, the systems also enable automated inspection of lens surfaces. Defects, markings, engravings and cosmetic deviations can be reproducibly detected and documented. This provides reliable inspection results that reduce subjective influences and support consistently high quality in development, inspection and production.

Flexible solutions for laboratory and production

The portfolio includes standard products as well as customer-specific solutions for laboratories, inline inspection and series production. Measuring and inspection systems can be integrated into automated processes and support objective, reproducible quality control. Users benefit from a single point of contact, extensive industry expertise and a broad technology base within one group of companies.
