Fully automatic paint defect inspection of car bodies and attachments

For glossy surfaces such as car paints in particular, a flawless production chain is required to ensure a high-quality appearance of the end product. The reflectCONTROL Automotive inspection system is used for fully automatic defect detection on painted car bodies and attachments.

The sensor projects a striped pattern onto the surface. Defect-based deviations are recorded by two cameras and classified and evaluated by the software. Automatic color calibration enables new model palettes to be taught in quickly and individual paint finishes to be checked.
