Press releases of Micro-Epsilon

The capaNCDT CST6110 capacitive measuring system detects speed from the first rotation. This robust sensor system measures rotational speeds up to 400,000 rpm in drives, on rotor blades and position marks on shafts.

Press release

The capaNCDT DT61x4 is an active, capacitive system for displacement, distance and position measurements in industrial applications. It includes an active sensor and integrated preamplifier and enables long cable connections up to 15m.

The new IF2030/ENETIP interface module easily connects sensors to Ethernet/IP control systems. It supports data rates up to 4 Mbaud and can be integrated into control cabinets via a DIN rail. Numerous sensors from Micro-Epsilon are compatible with this module.

Displacement and distance measurements on highly reflective surfaces such as plastics, mirrored glass or metals require special laser sensors such as the optoNCDT 1750DR. This sensor generates stable signals due to the real-time surface compensation feature which enables the exposure time to be controlled. Its compact design with integrated controller allows the installation even in restricted installation spaces.

wireSENSOR WPS-K100 draw-wire sensors measure displacements and distances in industrial environments. The two new models offer measuring ranges of 1500 and 2500 mm. Their robust design combined with an excellent price/performance ratio means they are ideally suited to OEM and series applications.

Press release

The mainSENSOR measuring principle from Micro-Epsilon unites the advantages of two sensor types. Based on the combination of inductive sensors and magnetic sensors, reliable and durable sensor solutions for displacement, distance and rotational speed measurements have evolved. In particular, magneto-inductive sensors are used as alternatives to inductive sensors and proximity sensors in process automation, the packaging industry and in machine monitoring. Their favorable price/performance ratio makes them specially suitable for serial applications.

It is essential that the “width” and “height” of the cable tie strap, as well as the “tooth pitch” are monitored concurrently and constantly during the production of the continuous loop straps. These values are crucial to ensure a consistently good and reliable binding result. HellermannTyton GmbH therefore relies on a solution from ISW GmbH that uses a Micro-Epsilon sensor system to monitor the parameters.

In order to protect PCBs from environmental influences such as humidity, they are coated with a protective clear varnish. This ensures error-free operation. The automotive industry in particular demands a minimum thickness for this protective coating. Up to now, it was not possible to perform a measurement without destroying the target. Confocal sensors from Micro-Epsilon solve this measurement task without making contact with the target and therefore in a non-destructive manner. They provide the thickness values in real time.

The Danish company Inrotech A/S relies on sensors from Micro-Epsilon. A special welding robot, the "Inrotech-Crawler", is used to generate an optimal weld seam in fully-automated processes. Therefore, the welding processes are calculated in advance. During the welding process, the robot uses the precise measurement values provided by Micro-Epsilon’s powerful laser profile scanners. The scanners combine high precision and a compact design with a low sensor weight.

The new inductive eddyNCDT 3070 displacement measuring system offers high performance and precision. It provides resolutions in the submicron range and operates with a frequency response up to 20 kHz. The inductive measuring system is designed for applications in industrial processes. As it is compatible with more than 100 sensor models, versatile applications can be solved.

Press release

The new thermoIMAGER TIM QVGA thermal imaging camera combines a compact size and high resolution with high speed. The camera is ideally suited to monitoring tasks in industrial processes. With a frame rate up to 80 Hz and a resolution of 382 x 288 pixels, the thermoIMAGER TIM QVGA operates quickly and reliably in a temperature range from -20 °C to 900 °C. In addition, for temperatures up to 1500 °C a special model is available.

Press release

In the water sports center in Leipzig, athletes and future Olympic athletes train in water diving. In order to achieve optimal training results, height-adjustable diving platforms are used. These enable the athletes to jump from individual heights. The system also has considerable advantages for synchronized divers because the towers can be moved to the same height. Draw-wire sensors from Micro-Epsilon ensure that the towers are always in the exact position.
