Machine tool clamping position

An inductive sensor according to the VIP principle is used for displaying the movement of the clamping cylinder in machine tools. The sensor is integrated in the clamping device and determines the axial position of the clamping cylinder. The displacement signal is routed to a control unit which provides programmable switching points. The outputs of the clampCONTROL control unit can be used in a downstream machine or system controller.
