Glass manufacturing poses some unique challenges for sensors and measurement technologies. A special characteristic of thin, flat glass is its IR permeability (transmission). This peculiarity makes thermography particularly difficult in flat glass production. Micro-Epsilon has launched a thermal imaging camera that enables temperature measurements on thin, flat glass. The newsletter provides further information on this.

Johann Salzberger goes into retirement

On 15th January 2015, the management board of Micro-Epsilon changed. After Karl Wisspeintner passed management into the hands of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Sellen in 2012, now his sons Dr. Alexander Wisspeintner and Dr. Thomas Wisspeintner succeed Johann Salzberger.

The new thermoIMAGER TIM G7 thermal imaging camera is tailored to the special requirements of glass production, providing optimised spectral sensitivity for measurements in flat glass manufacturing.

A compact sensor and ease of use make the capaNCDT 6110 sensor suitable for measuring displacement, distance and position in a diverse range of applications, from test cells to automation and machine building.



Colour sensors for kitchen fronts

In the production of kitchen fronts, the colorSENSOR OT-3-MA colour sensors ensure that the kitchen display units leaving the production plant have the correct colour. Even the smallest colour deviations imperceptible to the human eye can be detected on a matt surface.
