Micro-Epsilon has extended its confocalDT IFS 2405 series of confocal-chromatic sensors. These sensors are designed for precise displacement and thickness measurement. The new sensors are more sensitive and offer a significant advantage when measuring dark targets, and they also offer base distances up to 100mm, providing greater flexibility in applications. The attainable tilt angle has also increased. These sensors are available for the new generation confocalDT 2451/2471 controller. This controller offers an excellent signal-to-noise ratio and achieves measuring rates of 10kHz (LED light source) or 70kHz (Xenon light source).
The controller’s innovative, high performance CCD array supports active surface compensation when measuring different materials. The finely tuned components of the measuring system provide a higher accuracy per measurement channel. In addition to common measuring tasks, confocalDT IFS 2405 series sensors can be used for one-sided thickness measurement of transparent materials.
