New laser sensors extend the top end models of the optoNCDT series: with a measuring range of 5mm and an offset distance of 24mm, the optoNCDT 2300-5 and optoNCDT 2300-5BL are suitable for high precision measurements in production processes, e.g. component tests for smartphones; thickness measurement of metal, paper and display glass. Precision measurement of metal strip in harsh industrial environments requires a larger offset distance. This is why the ILD2310-10 sensor was developed, offering a measuring range of 10mm and an offset distance of 95mm. The third model, the optoNCDT 2300-40 with its offset distance of 175mm, is designed for distance measurement applications where mechanical components may block the path of the laser or where high temperatures are present, e.g. in aluminum and copper casting. The optoNCDT 2310-50 and optoNCDT 2310-50BL have a larger offset distance of 550mm, allowing measurement of red-hot glowing metals in the steel industry, e.g. steel girders, forged steel and steel profiles.
