Embedded Coil Technology goes beyond current limits
Eddy current sensors with embedded coil technology are significantly different from traditional coils. The sensor structure is embedded in an inorganic carrier material, keeping temperature and size stable. Electronic components can be placed onto the carrier material.
This method is ideal for particularly challenging environments. Embedding the structure ensures very high mechanical resistance – sensors installed in paper refiners, for example, are demonstrating this every day. Here, wood is broken down into fibers for processing in the paper industry. Refiner plates and sensors monitoring the gap between the plates must withstand extremely high stresses. After several weeks, ECT sensors are still working, whilst traditional sensors were failing within hours.
Sensors are always produced and optimized to customer requirements. This means Micro-Epsilon customers always receive a unique product.
