With the new capacitive sensors, the shielding electrode has been moved to the back. This enables an increased measuring range of up to 2.5 times for the same size sensor. Conversely, a much more compact sensor can be installed for the same measuring range. The measuring object can therefore be much smaller too. As the sensors have a cylindrical design, with a connector on the back, they offer greater flexibility. Measuring ranges of 0.05mm, 1mm and 2mm are available. Like all others, these models can be interchanged with all other capaNCDT electronics and sensors.
Also new are the capaNCDT CSG sensors, which were developed for measuring gaps. Sensor electrodes are mounted to the top of the front and back on 20cm wide circuit boards. Using the capaNCDT CSG, gaps of 0.9mm to 4.9mm can be measured at resolutions of up to 90nm. In terms of the capaNCDT 6500 electronics, signals of both electrodes are able to instantaneously calculate the gap width. The sensors can be connected to all Micro-Epsilon capaNCDT electronics. This means that sensor interchangeability is always guaranteed.
