Prof. Dr. Martin Sellen
Prof. Dr. Martin Sellen was Department Manager of Sensor Development in Ortenburg for sixteen years. During this time, he was heavily involved in many groundbreaking decisions and was responsible for introducing and implementing numerous new products from the current product range. As Management Assistant since April 1, 2010, Martin now supports Mr. Karl Wißpeintner (Dipl.-Ing) in many of his business management tasks. In the future, Prof. Dr. Sellen will also lecture at the Deggendorf University as Professor for Industrial Sensor Systems and will continue his role as Chairman of the Sensor Systems Strategic Partnership.
His successor as Sensor Development Manager is Dr. Thomas Wißpeintner who has been intensively preparing himself for his new role for more than 12 months. As son of the company’s founder, Thomas Wißpeintner is now responsible for the further development of the company’s electromagnetic sensors. For his Doctorate, Thomas developed a modular system for the fast realization of robot applications at the Fraunhofer Institute in Sankt Augustin (Saint Augustin). Dr. Thomas Wißpeintner was also heavily involved in the development of the driverless vehicle “Spirit of Berlin” and in initiating a competition for assistance and service of robots with the name RoboCup@Home.
