Infrared temperature measurement in tight installation spaces
07/20/2010
The thermoMETER CSmicro temperature sensors are amongst the smallest infrared sensors available on the market. The complete sensor design has been miniaturized so far that the sensor has a diameter of just 14mm. The required electronics unit has also been miniaturized in such a way that it is now completely integrated in the cable.
The compact sensors can be used in a wide range of applications, particularly where installation space is restricted. For example, the thermoMETER CSmicro sensors in thermoforming units measure the temperature of the plastic. The sensor must also require little space for such a compact unit.
In the basic version, the sensor covers a temperature range from -20°C to 350°C and has an analog voltage output. In the two-wire version, the signal is output via a current output and a temperature range from -30°C to 900°C. The high resolution version provides a resolution of 0.025°C. A model is also available for extremely high temperatures up to 1600°C. All variants in the series can be programmed via an optional USB connection, including software.
