Relocation of Micro-Epsilon System Technology
07/20/2010
The System Technology Department of Micro-Epsilon moved into larger premises on June 15, 2010. The Software Development and the 2D/3D Measurement Technology departments have already been located on the first floor of this building for several years. The ground floor was previously unused and so has provided sufficient capacity to accommodate the System Technology Department. The ground floor was gutted and completely rebuilt within just three months. With an area of 1300m2, the new premises for the System Technology Department now provides enough space for six large offices and a generous assembly area. The building designated as Werk II is located in the center of Ortenburg. There are currently twelve employees in the System Department at Ortenburg who are responsible for planning, project management, installation and sales.
The Systems and Equipment (= system technology) Department at Micro-Epsilon develops, plans and produces turnkey measurement systems for process monitoring and quality control. The particular benefit here is that all the core competences required developing a measurement system are in one location and in fact at a depth of knowledge that is second to none. Current developments in sensor technology can be applied directly to inspection systems. Application-specific adaptations of sensors are also possible. Due to in-house sensor technology development the customer benefits from unique precision sensor systems. The graphical development tool ICONNECT is relied on for the creation of the operating and analysis software. This tool was developed by Micro-Epsilon’s Software Department and is constantly maintained by state of the art IT. In the area of mechanics, which must be given maximum attention when engineering measuring systems, the designers and engineers of the System Technology Department at Micro-Epsilon have a combined knowledge that has been built up over many years. This experience is required for example in preventing vibration or compensating for faults caused by high temperature. These are features that distinguish the Systems group and its products. Short communication paths and rapid reaction times resulting from years of knowledge and expertise are invaluable to the customer. Therefore, solutions can be developed and tested in the shortest possible time, with sensor technology, automation, software and mechanical engineering seamless matched.
