Sensors with Ethernet interface
05/03/2010
Typically, companies will have a wide-ranging Ethernet network already installed, which can be expanded using Industrial Ethernet via communication with sensors and other measurement technologies. Much progress has already been made in adapting network components, switches etc. to industrial standards for harsh environments. Connection speeds and the commercial availability have also helped to increasing the popularity of this interface in industry.
Many different sensors from Micro-Epsilon already have Ethernet capability. All temperature sensors from Micro-Epsilon can be supplied with an Ethernet interface. The capaNCDT 6500 capacitive multi-channel system is also Ethernet compatible and is therefore very flexible in its use. In addition, the new combination sensor for thickness measurement of film, as well as the CSP2008 Universal Controller, are also supplied with an Ethernet interface as standard. The latest addition to Micro-Epsilon’s range of Ethernet-compatible sensors is the scanCONTROL 2700 laser scanner.
