Draw-wire sensors in medicine

Position determination is a particularly important subject in medicine: In X-ray equipment, the camera must be exactly aligned with the X-ray tubes. The precise positioning of the patient in computer tomographs or on operating tables is mandatory for modern examination and operation methods. For rehabilitation, sensors make it possible to document and evaluate the treatment success. The camera guidance for robot assistants for minimally invasive operations also requires exact position determination.
Draw-wire sensors from the wireSENSOR series are frequently used for these and many other purposes. The benefits of the sensors are extremely stable and durable design with high accuracy. The sensor can be integrated into positioning systems very quickly due to the very simple mounting. The possibility of diverting the measuring wire and the telescopic capability of the measuring principle are particularly beneficial. In this way, it is also possible to measure positions and angles precisely at inaccessible places. However, the price is frequently decisive: As complex mechanical designs can frequently be avoided due to the flexible mounting options, the solution with sensors from the wireSENSOR series is often even less expensive than conventional position sensors.
