Accelerating slag transport

Liquid slag has a temperature of 1,300°C and must be transported away from the production process and into storage in as fast a time as possible before the slag is allowed to cool down and solidify. Transport vehicles are therefore used to convey the crucible to the storage location. Previously, a signal was generated at the support cylinder and tipping cylinder using discrete switching points, which gave the driver permission to start. Due to the extremely harsh environment, this measurement was often prone to error and the release did not occur until the cylinders were fully retracted. By using draw-wire sensors, this journey can be started much earlier and valuable time is saved. The sensors are protected using special mounting positions that enable high signal stability.
