Eddy current is the better inductive method
08/21/2009
As soon as a measurement is performed on electrically conductive objects or the measurement needs to be fast and precise, there is no avoiding eddy current principles. More than 400 sensors in the standard range provide the appropriate solution for most applications. The application areas range from the laboratory to test rigs and mechanical engineering systems through to to highvolume use in the automotive industry. As well as the eddyNCDT standard series, the complete electronics of a measurement channel can be integrated in the cable for small series applications. The costs of a measurement channel in this version are only a fraction of the cost of a conventional measurement channel. eddyNCDT sensors are used for dynamic pressure loads of more than 3,000 bar. Due to their robust construction, the sensors are also used continuously in oil or water. Eliminating the winding core enables the sensor to be used in magnetic fields. The measurement is not influenced even by dirt in the measuring gap so that measurements onto a metal through plastics can be performed. A special adjustment of the electronics to the measuring object results in extremely precise results. The new 3-point software calibration also results in very fast and simple linearization during operation.
