Glossary: Potentiometer

A potentiometer is a continuously variable rotating or sliding resistance. Often a potentiometer is used as a linear resistance or linear voltage divider. It is used as the sensing element in Draw-wire Sensors. Another practical Application example is the volume control on a radio.
