Capacitive measurement principle

The method of capacitive displacement measurement with the capaNCDT system is based on the principle of the ideal plate-type capacitor. The two plate electrodes are formed by the Sensor and the Target situated opposite. If a constant alternating current flows through the Sensor capacitor, the amplitude of the alternating voltage on the Sensor is proportional to the spacing of the capacitor electrodes.
