Thermal expansion of high frequency spindles

The displacement measuring system SGS is developed for recording the thermal extension of high speed milling machine spindles. This enables the active compensation of the axial spindle extension via a CNC machine tool.
The displacement measuring system SGS uses the eddy current measuring principle. The sensor is integrated in the spindle. All sensor-specific data are stored in the sensor (EEPROM). After changing the spindle, the system is ready to run without any calibration.
